The Three Toed Ground Sloth

Sloths have many adaptations that help them survive in its environment- the rainforest. They have sharp grips so they can hang on trees and defend themselves. Their color helps them blend in and stay away from predators and they are very good at swimming if necessary. Since they spend so much time upside down, they can spend 90 percent of their lives living upside down. This is possible because their organs are attached to their rib cage so their organs don't weigh down on their lungs. Due to climate change sloths will have to adapt to living in a dry environment.Like no trees, little water, and more predators. As a result they might end up having less fur, acquire shorter claws, have stronger legs, and end up living underground again. They probably won't spend any time in trees because there will sadly be none. Their diets could even change!
