Capybaras live in the tropical rainforests of South America. They spend their time swimming in water. They have adapted to live in marshy wetlands. Capybaras have webbed feet to help swim, dense fur, have sharp teeth to defend themselves, and their ears, eyes, and nose are on the top of their heads so they can be alert while underwater. In the future, the rain forests in South America will be dry savannas without water. Capybaras will spend most of their time running through sand and dirt. I think capybaras will be a light tan color to blend with the sandy soils. They will need bigger feet that aren't webbed to walk through the sand and dirt. Capybaras will need skin that can retain moisture, thinner fur, and sweat glands to reduce heat. In the future with these adaptations capybaras will be able to survive.
