The rainforest is a humid, wet place with plants and wildlife under every step in your path. Poison dart frogs are made for these conditions; they like wet spaces with temperatures ranging in the low to mid 70s. Poison dart frogs are covered in a mucus-like substance containing toxins to help fend predators away, their vibrant colors warn off predators and can help them camouflage. If their environment changed due to deforestation the ground would be bare, their colors would change to match the dry, dusty ground. They would still have to produce mucus, but more for the reason of keeping in their moisture and they would have to be able to store moisture for long periods of time. They would adapt to burrowing underground to lock in their moisture and avoid predators. Because of deforestation, the temperature in the rainforest would rise, forcing the poison dart frog to adapt.
