Fiery Throated Hummingbirds live in the Amazon Rainforest. Currently, they live in trees. They are nectivores and drink only nectar. However, that all may change because of our changing climate. Let’s take a look at what could happen to the Fiery Throated Hummingbirds. I believe that, in a few centuries, the Amazon Rainforest will eventually become an open savannah, with fewer trees and swelteringly hot. As a result, there will be less water and more unpredictable weather patterns. Fiery Throated Hummingbirds will change, physically and behaviorally. Due to the heat, Fiery Throated Hummingbirds will dig burrows and live in them. There will be less flowers, so the Fiery Throated Hummingbirds will change their diet, become omnivores and will eat bugs and small mammals, such as mice. They will have camouflaging feathers to sneak up on their prey. They will have tan feathers to blend into the ground.
