The toco toucan lives in the Amazon rainforest. They are omnivores, so they eat fruits such as figs, oranges, and guavas, but they also eat insects and the eggs of birds. These toucans love to fly around the treetops in the rainforest. A few examples of how the toco toucan is adapted to the rainforest are how they have bright colors to camouflage, and the serrated edges on their beaks help them peel fruit. In a thousand years, the toco toucan will have adapted to a dryer habitat due to global warming. The rainforests will burn down due to wildfires and so the Amazon Rainforest will turn into a dry savanna. The toucans will have brown feathers to camouflage with the environment. Their feathers will be able to hold moisture because it won’t rain very often.
