Due to climate change causing drought and warmer temperatures, flora begins to die, causing the poison dart frog to lose its main protection from predators, its ability to hide. Without the cover of trees and bushes, dart frogs die more often. Those with dark brown and black colors camouflage with the ground, and develop shorter feet, less adapted for climbing and more for digging, where they can escape predators, while still living above water where they can eat the insects they need to survive.
