Due to climate change, the water levels in the Amazon rainforest have significantly risen allowing Electric eels also known as Electrophorus Electricus to thrive. However, this reign would soon prove to be a problem as the eels faced overpopulation. Competition quickly shot up between the eels and over several thousands of years it proved more advantageous to search on land rather than stay in the water. Due to their anatomy, they are obligate air breathers. This means they can resurface to breathe the air if needed. The eels with big fins survived as they could push themselves out of the water yet the eels who couldn't weren't so lucky. Over time the dwindling resources in the water would make it fully necessary to hunt on land making Eels adapt to have a more snake-like underbody to grip the terrain and a slithering movement. Scientists have named it the Electric Snake.
