ATAT Tortoise

The Yellow Footed Tortoise is an Amazonian vertebrae that is facing the deadly effects of climate change along with the threat of overhunting by human hands. It is known for its long toeless fins, its high arching shell, and colorful scales on its limbs. However, due to the droughts the Amazon has been going through, the Yellow-footed tortoise will have to adapt to have longer legs with toes to help it travel faster on land to find food and new sources of water. This can also help it escape humans and predators faster. It would need to have a lighter shell to keep it from overheating, and the shell would mostly likely turn a brownish color to replicate the landscape around it. Finally, the eggs would have to adapt to incubating at higher temperatures in the ground because of higher global temperatures.
