The geometric tortoise’s shell is black with a geometric radial pattern in yellow. Its body color is reddish and legs are covered with scales. They have tiny claws to help them walk around in the rocks and dirt. It lives in a rocky, dusty climate with small patches of grass. It eats tiny shrubs and grasses in a rare shrubland. In the future the geometric tortoise’s shell will be thicker and darker with colors of black and gray to camouflage in a changing environment. It also will blend in with the soil and rocks. The shrubland will be small and drier due to climate change and habitat loss. The geometric tortoise’s locomotion will change to be faster so that it can find food quicker and it will gain more strength to support its heavier shell.
