Ocelots live in dense tropical rainforests. Their diet includes rodents, birds, snakes, lizards, fish, and crabs. Ocelots have spots called rosettes which help them hide in the light shining through the trees. Ocelots sleep in trees to hide from predators. They are solitary animals. Ocelots are great swimmers that catch fish and escape predators. Due to global warming, tropical rainforests will become grasslands. Ocelots will experience several changes to adapt. Instead of a varied diet, they will mostly eat rodents. They will have to be faster to catch them. The rosettes will evolve into stripes to blend into the grass. Ocelots will have fewer hiding places because there are no trees. They may begin to live in groups for safety and begin living in dens. Since there is little water in grasslands, they won't be able to swim for food or protection. They might lose the ability to swim.
