The Capybara is a forest dwelling rodent that thrives in both water and land. It has a diet of plants such as reeds, melons, and grass. Capybaras are the world's largest rodent. This helps them avoid being prey. Capybaras also have facial features on the higher side of their head so they can breathe and see while they are swimming. In 1,000 years the Capybara will need to adapt in many different ways to match the savannah like habitat with less trees and plants. Some adaptations would be due to the lack of plants. The Capybara will become carnivorous, growing large sharp teeth and stronger legs. Some adaptations would be because of the lack of water. Its toes would become separated from each other due to the lack of needing to swim. Its fur would also change color to match the tan color of the environment.
