Dwarf seahorses are an incredible species. They live in coral reefs on the Gulf Coast, which are the rainforests of the ocean. Seahorses feed on small crustaceans like amphipods and invertebrates. They do not have a stomach or teeth. Instead, they suck their prey through a tubular snout or a fused jaw and pass it through an inefficient digestive system. They live at 70-74° F, so in climate change, they would need to adapt to warmer temperatures. They would have to adapt to eating less. The things that seahorses eat will decrease, affecting their diet. They would have to find something else or not eat as much. Seahorses can change color to blend in with the coral reefs. Due to climate change and what humans are doing to the oceans, there will likely be no coral reefs to blend into.
