Tapirs are adaptable to different environments. There are quite a few biomes that these fascinating creatures can be found in. Tapirs prefer moist areas and are often found near waterways in the rainforest. They eat flowers and plants, but they do eat some fruits. Bananas are probably their favorite fruit. Tapirs swim well and eat aquatic plants. They can also walk on pond bottoms even though they don’t have long legs. Tapirs have large snouts and long claws. Female Tapirs are larger than males. They are about six to eight feet in length. Their body has one white stripe in the middle but the front and black parts are black. In one-thousand years humans will have destroyed the planet. The pollution released into the air will have killed the plants and polluted the water. They will no longer have safe food, leading up to extinction.
