Toucans are marvelous creatures that dwell in tropical rainforests today. The toucan of today has dark feathers with a white belly, and a brightly colored beak. This is mainly because of the brightly colored flora of the rainforest, and also the darkness the canopy brings. However, in thousands of years, these toucans will change a lot due to climate change. Climate change will cause droughts, and rainforests will become drier, eventually becoming savannas. Toucans will lose their bright colors and become more dull and brownish. Their wingspan will become much wider since they have to travel further for food, and in the open they will have to fly faster to get away from predators. Since the toucan can’t be as picky with its food in the savanna, it will have a bulkier and shorter beak in order to eat many things like fish, roots, fruits, and small birds and rodents.
