Hyacinth macaws are presently found in parts of Brazil, along with eastern Bolivia and northeastern Paraguay. They are normally found in areas such as palm swamps and flooded grasslands. The hyacinth macaw was considered an endangered species from 2000-2013 before the status changed to vulnerable, however, habitat loss is likely to put the species back on the endangered species list, meaning that climate change will likely have a disastrous impact on the species. To adapt to climate change, I believe that hyacinth macaws will have to change their diets, going from eating mainly fruits, nuts, seeds, and nectar to eating other animals, such as rodents. They will also have to be able to reproduce more quickly. I believe that all these factors will also cause a change in their color, making the color of their feathers to become dull or even completely change.
