The Giant otter has adapted well to the rainforest environment. They have dense fur that’s water-repellent to keep them warm and dry, a powerful tail and webbed feet to for swimming, and nostrils and ears that close when submerged. Their adaptations are meant for the water so, in the future, they won’t be as helpful. Climate change would cause droughts and a warmer atmosphere. To avoid extinction, they have to adapt to this new environment. I predict that they will lose webbing because they won’t swim as much, have lighter fur that cools them off, better hearing, eyesight, and smell that helps them hunt, sharper teeth so that they can eat meat, claws to help eat it, longer legs so they can run faster from predators, a smaller tail since they don’t swim as much now, and lastly eyebrows and eyelashes to protect their eyes from debris.
