The Emperor Tamarin, native to the southwest Amazon Basin, has long tails and claws to grab onto trees and whiskers to recognize who is in their group, as they have groups of up to 15 people. Emperor Tamarins mainly live in trees, and because of deforestation a lot of their normal behaviors and fiscal features will change. Some of the many changes would be: having bigger ears to listen to predators and living in bigger groups to protect each other more. Because all the trees would be cut down they would have to sleep/live in dens, and wouldn’t have long claws or tails anymore by not needing them for climbing. Another change would be the food they eat, most of it comes from plants, like fruit, nectar, gum, and leaves. 83% of their food will be gone, they would eat insects, but it's a small amount for these animals.
