After all the gathered knowledge about evolution that I have accomplished this year, I now have the necessary information to determine what piranhas will look like in thousands of years. One important factor to consider is climate change, there will be a rise in temperature. This will cause many species to be extinct and will hugely affect piranhas’ evolution. The jaw structure will change radically; the now small triangle-shaped sharp teeth will turn into hook-shaped teeth to better catch its prey. Another structural adaptation is its body shape; from large and round to narrow and streamline to swim faster to catch more prey. They also might be less social, while they now hunt in groups, in the future they might decide to go on their own not to share food. Also, their digestive system might improve so that it produces more energy over a longer period of time without food.
