Burrowing into the Future

The Pangolin lives in many areas such as the rainforest, however, they also have lived in much drier ecosystems so they have many adaptations that will help them survive, however, these might not be enough for the rapidly warming environment and shrinking shelter, this is why I believe that Pangolins will grow sharper and harder scales that will fit to look more like their environment to help defend from predators, they will also be sleeker and smaller for better movement and make it so they can withstand the heat better, not only that, they will start to pant to although dehydrate faster, they will get more heat resistant. Pangolins will have better claws to burrow, they will also develop the trait for aestivation.
