The Binturong is a very well adapted animal that occupies rainforests around the world. A few of their current adaptations are partially prehensile tails, rotating ankles, and delayed implantation. In a futuristic world there are predicted to be very unstable rain patterns. The binturong is already able to swim but giving them slightly webbed toes and a larger flat tail that is fully prehensile to help with both swimming and climbing. Its coat will become thicker and water-proof. Its ears will increase in size and thin out to help with temperature control. Its claws will become fully retractable and it will shrink in size to make it more agile in the trees so it doesn’t need to cross open ground to get from tree to tree. They will also use their now stronger tails to hang upside down in trees in order to reach hard to get food.
