As of now, the Kinkajou live in Forest habitats in Central and South America aka the Amazon rainforest. The current state of the rainforest is very wet and contains tons of trees. The kinkajou have a very long tail to climb branches, they also have sharp teeth to fight off attackers and long and sharp claws to climb trees. The Kinkajou mainly eat insects, nectar, and fruit. In the future, there will be less trees in the Amazon and the temperatures will spike increasingly. The Kinkajou will have to adapt to these changes by having shorter and wider claws that are not as sharp so they can get around better, a shorter tail because they wouldn’t need it because there wouldn’t be barely any trees, and smaller eyes because there won’t be lots of trees and branches blocking their way. This adaptation will be tough but they will be okay.
