As of right now, The Okapi lives in the Ituri rainforest. It has many qualities due to the condition such as light marks that pose as great camouflage and helps to act as streaks of sunlight. Not only this but the Okapi also has a long tongue to reach leaves, very thick and oily fur to keep it dry, and large ears that are great for hearing predators and avoiding trouble. Its biggest threat is deforestation which over time will make their long tongue for plucking leaves useless as they will now have to mainly eat grass. The white marks on their body will disappear since they have no place to use their camouflage and their ears will have less use as it will be easier to spot predators. Their fur will become less oily and this will become lighter.
