In the tropical rainforest, there are a variety of animals calling it home. The animal I picked lives along the riverbanks. The capybara is the largest living rodent that is barrel shaped and stands at around 3 feet tall. The capybara eats grass a day along with reeds, melons, grains, and squash. Jaguars and pumas like to hunt down capybara. Its characteristics are: short haired, brown fur, blunt snout, short legs and almost no tail. They are typically 60-174 lbs. This is a docile animal, friendly in nature. In 500 years capybaras will adapt to the savanna biomes that their forests will become because according to Future Engineers, “One adaptation to survive would be adopting a hump. Like a camel, the hump will be full of fat helping it survive longer without water. Another adaptation is retractable webbed feet. Helping it run faster and also swim during the flood seasons.”
