Ocelots sleep in trees to camouflage. They live in the South American rainforests. They eat mainly small rodents and primates. They have black or brown spots that are dark arranged in a donut shape. They use keen sight and hearing to hunt. Sometimes they take to the trees and stalk their prey. They can swim very well and actually like water unlike most cats. Ocelots are adapted to eating meat. In the future, the ocelot’s color will change to be the same color as the ground. This change will happen because the ocelot needs to blend with the trees and the ground. It will be harder for them to find food because most of the animals will have died out, so they may become omnivores or be master camouflagers. They will have to find a new place to sleep, like the ground, or the bushes.
