I researched the spotted-tailed quoll. This animal hides out in rainforests from the upland Daintree to Tully and at Cape Tribulation. I researched climate change in the Daintree Rainforest. After having roughly constant temperature, this region saw a sudden increase in temperature. Currently, it is constant again. However, in the future, I predict that there will be another hike in the temperature that will cause a warmer and drier climate due to global warming. This will cause the spotted-tailed quoll’s fur to change from a blackish-brown fur with white spots that exists today to an orange brown fur with white spots in the future. This is because a darker color will absorb more sunlight, whereas a lighter colored fur will help the quoll stay cool. Attached is a drawing of what this animal looks like before and after this change.
