Toucans are native to the Neotropics, from Southern Mexico, through Central America, into South America, and South to Northern Argentina. Toucans eat raw fruits or succulent fruit-like produce of plants such as roots, shoots, nuts and seeds. Toucans have big colorful beaks, small bodies, rounded tails, short thick necks, and strong and short legs. They will change colors and become smaller due to not being able to fly in the trees and the diet they eat. The toucan will be in danger from people cutting down trees and fires.
