In Southern Brazil, the Kinkajou, a small member of the raccoon family, thrives in the rainforest. With adaptations for tree life, including claws and hind feet that are reversible, their diet currently consists of fruits and nectar. As a result of climate change, in 10,000+ years, their lush rainforest home will transform into a dry desert. Forced to adapt, the Kinkajou will evolve into an omnivore, now eating small insects and obtaining water from cacti. Their feet and claws will grow for life in the desert, and they will develop poison in their teeth for protection. Embracing interdependence with other species in their new habitat, the Kinkajou faces a future of adaptation and evolution until the end of time.
