Orangutans, the largest arboreal animals, are renowned for their adaptation to tree-dwelling life. In the drawing we see that orangutans have distinctive features such as reddish-orange hair, large jaws, and concave faces, they excel in navigating and adapting to dipterocarpaceae trees. Using their long arms and hooked hands, orangutans adeptly swing through trees to consume fruits and small animals. However, a grim future looms as their existence is threatened. With a lengthy birth interval of 7-9 years and females giving birth to only 3-4 offspring in their lifespan, the orangutan population faces a critical challenge. Their natural habitat in rainforests is vanishing due to wildfires, fossil fuels, global warming, and palm oil plantations. The alarming reality is that only 50,000-65,000 orangutans remain, raising concerns about their survival in the face of ongoing environmental threats. So I believe in this time interval the orangutan species will be extinct.
