Gorillas live in the thick tropical rainforests of Central Africa. Its current adaptations are its dense black hair, which protects them from insects and keeps them warm. Being herbivores, they don’t need to travel far for food. Their opposable thumbs let them pick plants, and their enormous arms make it possible to climb trees. Climate change and deforestation will make the rainforest an open wetland. Gorillas will adapt to having no fur and thin gray skin so they can live better in the water since their fur would make it harder for them to swim. They will develop bigger ears like an elephant for direction in the water, cooling on land since there will be no trees to give them shade. Gorillas could need to eat a wider variety of foods, perhaps by becoming omnivores, having sharp teeth, and having more power.
