Okapis, known as the forest giraffe, live in the Congo River Basin in Africa. Due to the increase in rainfall in the rainforest, they will have to move to the savanna. Okapis today have a distinctive dark brown with stripes like a zebra's. The okapi’s fur will change to a lighter brown and the stripes will be duller after moving to the savanna. This will help them blend into their surroundings. Another change they will undergo is change in their shape and size. Today they're very wide and clumsy, which slows them down. In the future they will become leaner and smaller to make it easier to hide and run from predators. Their neck will elongate to reach trees to collect food because there will be less fungi and fruit in the savanna, which are their normal diet.
