The Resplendent Quetzal has become a victim along with many other wildlife in the rainforests to climate change. In the rainforest, many vertebrates have lost their homes due to deforestation and an increase in wildfires. Predictably in the next couple of years, this vibrant bird will change color to a less coruscating hue. For my future drawing I included the Resplendent Quetzal with longer claws to better suit the less dense environment. The trademark of this bird is the feathered tail, presumably will be shorter and less visible to prevent predators due to habitat loss. Through the destruction of the rainforest and its resources, prey will have to fight for food. The adapted beak will accommodate to the low resources providing the bird with the ability to hunt and gather. Aside from the beak, the wings will provide the Resplendent Quetzal with agility to escape larger predators.
