The Capybara lives in dense rainforests near fresh bodies of water in South America. It is a large rodent with brown short hair, blunt snout, short legs, small ears, webbed feet, and almost no tail. Capybara are herbivores, and use their long, sharp teeth for grazing on grass and water plants. Because of climate change and increase in temperature, glaciers will melt faster, causing water levels to rise. Due to this, the Capybara will need to be able to spend more time underwater finding food. If the Capybara increases the amount of hemoglobin in its body it will have a bigger lung capacity. A great way to do this is eating aquatic plants with high amounts of iron. The hemoglobin will help increase its lung capacity and help it survive in its new environment.
