The Red Brocket is a deer native to the Amazon Rainforest in South America. However, current rates of deforestation, rising temperatures, and sea level changes will cause the Red Brocket and other Amazon species to look much different in thousands of years. The deer's fur will change from a vibrant red to a dark brown to blend in with the dying grass and other brush. Without the trees and tall brush to stay hidden, the deer will eventually evolve a smaller size to hide from predators. In addition to the decrease in size, the red brocket's ears also would be in need of an evolution. The deer's ears would have to increase in size. This evolution would allow the deer to cool its body as the ears help disperse body heat among the deer.
