The eastern lowland gorilla, also known as the Grauer's gorilla, is located in the lowland tropical rainforest in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Because of humans cutting down its natural habitat and a loss of vegetation, other animals will migrate to its area causing less dwellings for protection. This will make it easier for the gorillas to track their prey, and will benefit them to evolve to have a carnivorous diet. For gorillas to efficiently hunt, they will need to get rid of excess weight by having leaner, lighter muscles. The muscles will also be stronger for combat with other animals. Finally, a large muscular furry tail will grow. The tail will not only help it climb trees because the gorilla is lighter, the tail will be able to restrict the gorilla's prey.
