The first drawing shows the current depiction of a fiery-throated hummingbird, a small bird with fluorescent feathers. They get their pigment from a protein that attaches itself to their feathers. When the bird moves, the color of its feathers change. The habitat depicted is the Talmancan Montane Forest of Costa Rica. The forest is full of flora and fauna and is foggy and hot most of the time. The second drawing shows the hummingbird in its new habitat, the desert oasis. They are nomadic because of smog and sand storms. This causes most animals to starve/dehydrate or suffocate if it covers the oasis. Meanwhile, the hummingbirds have adapted to forage for food and save it in their feathers/stomach. They also have no fear of predators because they camouflage to sand and smog and adapt defensive spikes that will protect them and save their food.
