Capybaras. With their plump, furry bodies and stubby little legs, what’s not to love about them? They live in the lush forests of South America but their homeland is turning savanna-like. They will have to dig and burrow more in a savanna-like landscape. This means their bodies will have to adapt. Webbed feet would be no use to a capybara because they wouldn’t need to swim. In the future they will have feet without any webbing. Another thing that might change would be the color of the Capybaras fur. In the future, it will be beige to match the savanna landscape. To hide and escape from predators easier, their big plump body will get smaller and be skinnier. Instead of short legs, they will have to have longer legs to be able to dig and burrow. If we don’t act on climate change, the Capybara could even go extinct
