A Toucan currently resides in mountain rainforests, using their elegantly vibrant colors to camouflage among the vegetation they hop around the rainforest in search of food. As climate change increases in the future, there are different traits, mostly in physical appearance, that Toucans adapt to. In the case of rising temperatures their habitat will burn down; they will develop larger and sharper wings, and a smaller tail and bill; this will help them in flying long distances. In the case of rising sea levels, the rainforests will flood; their lung capacity will increase and they will develop webbed feet which make it easier for them to swim in the water. In both possible futures, they will experience major dietary changes. This adaptation shows the connection between tye shifts in the environment and survival tactics.
