The Scarlett Macaw is being used as an example to show how the effects of thousands of years of climate change will impact the species we know and love today. The rainforest biome is now a savanna and the Scarlet macaw species has become brown because the species had to adapt to the not so colorful environment, and he has a shorter beak because the fruits and veggies aren't as plentiful, so he has to switch to a more insect based diet in order to survive.
