Sloth

Now sloths live in rainforests. They have long arms and legs to hang onto branches. They also have brown fur to blend into branches and trees. They eat mostly leaves from the trees. To move around, they climb from one branch to another. But what if they had no branches to climb on? That might happen in the future if the rainforests turn into savannas and swamps. Sloths wouldn’t have many trees to blend into so they’d then have slightly green fur to blend into the grass to help them hide from predators. They also wouldn’t eat leaves because there would be less trees. Instead, they’d eat grass. They wouldn’t be able to move by climbing from branch to branch. They would walk instead. Because they need to be able to run from predators, they wouldn’t be slow anymore. Sloths have to change a lot from now to the future!
