The Scarlet Macaw is a beautiful, colorful parrot that lives in Central America where some of my family comes from. It lives in tropical rainforests, and its omnivore diet includes nuts, berries, fruit, and insects. My prediction is that this environment will turn into wetlands because of deforestation and rising sea levels. To adapt to this habitat with few trees, the future Scarlet Macaw will hunt for small aquatic animals like fish and frogs, and they will build nests. I think they’ll learn to do these things because they’re intelligent birds. The Scarlet Macaw will develop sharper claws, longer beaks and legs, and shorter wing feathers for flying faster short distances and spending more time hunting on the ground. Their feathers will turn brown and green for better camouflage in a wetland environment. The future Scarlet Macaw will be active during mornings and evenings to avoid hot midday temperatures.
