Rock Iguana Adaptations

I chose a rock iguana for my animal, when you look at the iguana it is already pretty adapted to its environment. I had to think about what catastrophes could happen. Such as food being scarce, no trees, and the rainforest gets flooded with water. That brings me to how I could adapt the iguana. I could give the iguana a fleece-like bacteria layer of skin which is gray, like a Pompeii worm's skin/flesh to help it withstand heat. I could also give the iguana gills like a fish to help it swim underwater if the rainforest turns into a swamp or goes completely underwater. Lastly, I could adapt the iguana to have a pouch like kangaroos to help it store food. For these reasons and more, I chose and adapted the iguana to do the changes in its environment.
