Capybaras live in the Amazon. They are semi-aquatic. Currently, they have long, sharp teeth to chew vegetation. Their webbed toes help them paddle in the water. Their high nostril/eye placement helps them see predators when almost their whole head is submerged underwater. However, the Amazon is becoming dry from droughts/wildfires. It will soon turn into a savannah. The following evolutions will help with survival: the Capybaras front paws will become unwebbed to help them run away faster from predators. Their back paws will stay webbed for any necessary swimming. Their teeth will get sharper to chew through dry vegetation. Their body will become slimmer to be quicker when fleeing from predators. Their front paws will get sharp claws for defense and to climb up trees to escape danger. Finally, tan-colored fur will help to blend in more with the grasses of a savannah, making them harder to spot.
