Pygmy marmosets live in the Amazon rainforest. They are territorial and scent-mark their home range to protect it from outsiders. Pygmy marmosets live in social groups of 2-9 and their daily social behavior includes playing, grooming, and huddling. Pygmy marmosets are omnivores. Their tails are long with black rings. They have small sharp claws and thick tan, black, and brown fur. Because of global warming, more water from the Amazon River will evaporate and will create condensation, creating more rainfall and making the Amazon more humid and lush with plants and animals. Also, because sea levels are rising, the rainforest could turn into a swamp. Pygmy Marmosets might develop webbed feet, waterproof fur, and different color fur for camouflage. They might turn into carnivores and forage for food in water with their new adaptations. They will still scent-mark their home range to protect against outsiders and still live in groups.
