The South American Tapir is a mammal that weighs anywhere from 300-700 pounds. They live mostly in jungle and forest regions of south and central america and southeast Asia. They are amazing swimmers and can eat up to 75 pounds of food in a day. They usually eat fruits, plants, and leaves. The South American Tapir will have a hard shell to protect it from big animals. It will change from 3 toes to 1 toe to make it be able to run faster. It will also have its long snout change to a digger and start to get smaller to hide underneath the grass, it will start to eat bugs and ants, instead of plants and fruits. Its hair will get lighter to blend in with the grass. It will start from to change from and water to a land animal. It will get faster on land as well.
