My present time Royal Flycatcher is a unique rainforest creature. It is a medium size bird whose body is mostly brown, has a large head, long tail, long bill and wings. It has a colorful dotted, striped crown that looks like a paper fan that can open and close. Its crown is open and showing since it is mating season. Its nest is in a vine above the water. They build their nest here to protect them from other predators. My second illustration is of an Alter Royal Flycatcher hundreds of years in the future. The head, body, wings and bill have now shrunk because less insects exist due to rising temperature. The crown is dark brown and maroon because they are no longer eating the different insects that used to exist. They make their nest inside owl holes since there is little water left.
