Toucans are remarkable birds. They have great ways to protect themselves from danger and harm. So what’s threatening them? One of the biggest threats to toucans is habitat loss. Since the rainforest is cut down every day by humans, we are destroying the toucan's habitat and many other animals' habitats too. A toucan might evolve to fly in the air most of the time or swim most of the time. Another thing that’s threatening toucans is food shortage. When the climate changes, the fruits and other edible plants don’t grow as well as usual forcing toucans to fish. When they fish, there is overfishing caused by humans, and there isn’t enough to go around. This will cause toucans to starve. Although toucans are going through many changes and hardships, we can always help stop climate change and anything else that can harm us and the environment.
