I expect the sun conure to change drastically in the next thousand years due to its changing environment. With rising pollution and deforestation levels, rain forests will likely be reduced to dry grasslands where the bird will have to adapt to living on the ground. It will develop longer legs for walking and a shorter tail as it no longer needs to balance itself in trees. Higher temperatures due to global warming mean the bird must allocate its heat more efficiently. By evolving to have larger appendages, such as wings and beaks, the conure will be able to regulate its body temperature by flowing blood to these external body parts. The bird should also evolve to be smaller as less surface area helps it cool down faster. A lack of vegetation will force the conure to resort to catching insects for food, which a longer, skinnier beak will help do.
