The ocelot lives in the rainforest and relies mainly on trees. They have white and brown fur with black spots and stripes to camouflage from predators and to catch prey. Ocelots mainly eat small rodents but also enjoy having reptiles, birds, baby deer, and even sea animals such as fish and crabs. After nearly one million years, the ocelots have been forced to migrate into a mountain habitat due to rising waters. After fleeing their flooded rainforest and moving to the mountains, the ocelot made many adaptations. Because of the new home, they had to change their diet; they went from eating mainly rodents to eating mostly birds and plants. The ocelot also had to adapt from having short fur to having thick, long fur to keep them warm up in the cold mountains. Ocelots had to adapt to having gray fur to hide from mountain goats and other prey.
