The capybara is the world’s largest rodent and lives in rainforests and savannas. It has an insane sense of smell and has few predators. It jumps in water to escape predators.
In a couple of years, the capybara will have to live in a mixed woodland due to habitat loss from climate change. It will have webbed feet for swimming faster in the water, a tail for balance, super hard fur as an armor, and bad tasting meat for even less predators. It will dominate the waters and have incredible defense, and eat tons of grass a day. The capybara will also get much bigger than the present capybara. This proves that many animals can evolve to prevent dying due to climate change and habitat loss.
This is what I believe the capybara will evolve into in 50 years. The capybara will have perfectly adapted to the mixed woodland environment.
