The capybara lives in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Northeast Argentina and Uruguay rainforests. Capybaras have short legs, short ears, reddish brown fur, and a small tail. Capybaras are herbivores and eat water plants and grasses. They have adaptations to survive under water for up to five minutes and can push their ears against their heads to keep water out. Climate change will make the capybara have to adapt to a warmer and drier climate. The rainforest will become a savanna. The capybara will develop a hump to store water since there will be less available. Its fur will turn yellow-peach to camouflage better with the savanna grasses. It will develop webbed feet to swim for longer periods of time. It will have to eat berries and grasses. The capybara will survive with these adaptations.
